Primavera (Spring) is the first in a series of four carvings, in Kilkenny Limestone, of the four seasons of the year, each represented by a female torso morphing into a plant form. In the case of Primavera, the plant form is a snowdrop. The contrast of the polished forms against the more textured passages is intended to suggest the growth of new life emerging. |
