" I was given
a rough boulder of Alabaster. It was quite small and I was
keen to get the most out of the stone and waste as little
as possible. Slowly, this idea of a swelling leaf bud began to emerge. The block was quite thin in places
and with the light behind it, the translucence effect seems to make
the sculpture almost glow with life. The soft organic forms
of the sculpture are accentuated by the contrast with the
hard edged geometry and machined finish of the steel base " |
